Volunteers built 500 bicycles for children of active U.S. Military members
Our great thanks to Bank of NY Mellon, lead sponsor of the 9/11 Tribute Museum’s 9th annual 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. They along with more than 400 employees from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, Gero Family Charitable Trust (CFBTA), CME Group, Motorola Solutions Foundation, Sandler O’Neill & Partners LP, TWU and Zurich North America built 500 bicycles for children of active U.S. military members – we are grateful for their contributions and support.
We also wish to thank FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro and NYPD Commissioner James P. O’Neill. With members of the FDNY and NYPD, they showed their support for our 9/11 heroes and military service members by assembling bikes alongside members of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit, Department of Sanitation and Port Authority Police Department.
This year’s bike build stands out because we were able share with thousands of curious Oculus commuters and visitors the importance of giving back and the spirit of 9/11 when people came together. We are extremely grateful to the entire Westfield team and to WorldStage for their support in making the event a tremendous success.
Thank you also to APEX Express, USO and Rubenstein Public Relations for their support. We also wish to thank Eataly, Shake Shack, Pret A Manger and Wasabi who donated more than 500 lunch vouchers for the hard working volunteers and retailers Charles Tyrwhitt, L.K. Bennett and John Varvatos who donated items for the raffle.
Lastly, our deep appreciation to the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey for their support of the 9/11 Tribute Museum.
