The Children’s Chorus of Washington will travel to New York City to perform at the 9/11 Tribute Museum on Wednesday, June 28 at 2:30 pm. This concert is free to the public with museum admission.

Founded in 1995, the Children’s Chorus of Washington provides choral music education to vocalists, ages 5 to 18, from throughout metropolitan Washington D.C. regardless of their background, economic status, or prior experience. It currently has five auditioned performing ensembles each comprised of 160 students.

Notable performances include a concert at the White House for former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michele Obama, a concert with the Choral Arts Society, Great Noise Ensemble, and The Washington Chorus at the Kennedy Center, and concerts with the Cathedral Chorus Society at Washington National Cathedral. The Children’s Chorus of Washington has also toured to South Africa, Italy, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Brazil and France.

In addition to performing, the Children’s Chorus of Washington is visiting the 9/11 Tribute Museum to learn more about the historic events of 9/11 from those who experienced them.
