Gallery Guide – Vic
June 7, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
I’m meeting people coming down and they tell me ‘Vic you are going the wrong way.’ I say ‘No, I got people that are trapped up there and I need to get them out.’
Vic Guarnera was the contract manager for security systems for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey at the World Trade Center in both 1993 and 2001. He spent the morning of September 11th working to get people out in the safest ways possible; his knowledge and expertise of the inner workings of the buildings helped him to accomplish his mission. Instead of leaving the buildings, Vic ran upstairs and, with police officers and firefighters, was able to help get more people safely out of the North Tower. Now, Vic shares his story as a 9/11 Tribute Museum tour guide.
Be sure to talk to Vic in our galleries this afternoon to share his 9/11 experiences and answer your questions.
