Support the voices of the 9/11 Community
The September 11th Widows and Victims Families Association is a non-profit organization created in 2001 to support the families and victims of terrorism.
Our mission is to serve as a voice for the 9/11 community of families, first responders and recovery workers, survivors and residents, and provide educational resources from the first-person perspectives through the 9/11 Tribute Museum.
The 9/11 Tribute Museum opened in 2006 as a meaningful cultural destination where more than 4.2 million visitors from over 147 countries and territories have learned about the events of 9/11 through exhibitions, programs, and online resources that connect them with people who directly experienced the attacks. Through personal stories, the Tribute Museum highlights the powerful positive change our local and global communities can make when we stand together.
The Tribute Museum acts as a community center for those affected by 9/11 – 1,150 volunteers from the 9/11 community of family members, survivors, first responders and recovery workers and Lower Manhattan residents participate in sharing their story and supporting one another. We also provide information and resources to over 6,200 immediate family members who lost a loved one on 9/11 or due to health-related illnesses.
We need the support of New York State and you to continue providing these programs for visitors, students and all New Yorkers who were directly affected by 9/11.
