Catherine McVay Hughes, former Chair of Manhattan Community Board 1, served Lower Manhattan for over 25 years. She has worked with diverse community and labor groups, elected officials and governmental agencies at City, State and Federal levels: to advocate passage of the James Zadroga Act to include healthcare and cancer coverage for residents, workers and students, and to expand the Victim’s Compensation Fund Boundary to Canal Street; and to work for many years with the LMCCC and NYC agencies as an advocate for construction safety and mitigation.
Hear stories from Catherine and other inspiring women, as the 9/11 Tribute Museum and Women’s City Club of New York, in recognition of Women’s History Month, are pleased to re-present Women Rebuilding the World Trade Center.
